Connecting to the Tools.com via Maropost Commerce Cloud 


Customers of Maropost Commerce Cloud can connect to Tools.com using the Tools.com Add-on App available in the Maropost Commerce Cloud Add-on Store.

Overview


The Tools.com addon allows you to sell products on the Tools.com network’s multiple sales channels while still taking advantage of Maropost Commerce Cloud's powerful back end system for order management.


Orders placed on the Tools.com are downloaded into Maropost Commerce Cloud for processing. Once they are dispatched, Maropost Commerce Cloud sends the status back to your website so that customers are notified of fulfilment, and can track the delivery.


In addition, stock levels maintained in Maropost Commerce Cloud are automatically synced to the Tools.com.

Connect Maropost Commerce Cloud to Tools.com


• In your Maropost Commerce Cloud control panel select the Addons menu.

• Locate the Tools.com addon in the Sales Channels section, and click the Install button.

• Confirm any additional costs by clicking the Install and Confirm button.

• This will redirect you to the Tools.com app to configure your setup.

• The Tools.com App is powered by CrescoData, so you will first need to accept their terms of service and privacy policies.

Sync Timing


Products, Orders and Order Status is synced every 10minutes.

 


Product Settings


Inventory Location Id: This is the tools.com location Id for your account. You can either obtain this by contacting us, or we are happy to input this ID into the system for you, please reach out to your account manager for more details.


Default Attribute Set Id: Each product needs to be assigned to an attribute set. this can be done one of two ways, you can assign all products in your store to one attribute set by choosing a number from the table below and inputting it into this field. If you have very different sets of products, you will need to do some more in-depth mapping explained in the next step.

Attribute Set Mapping Method: Select from either “Map from Category / Content” or “Map From Custom Field”. This will allow you to map different your products to different tools.com attribute sets based on either its category or a custom field attribute. If you are not sure what to do here, then leave it on the default setting


Attribute Set Field: If you have selected "custom field" in the box above, then this is where you specify which custom field has the id values for your product's attribute set from the table above.


If you have selected "map from category or content" above, and have not chosen one attribute set id to cover your entire store, then you will need to head over to the Attribute_Set Mappings section further down in this document, and set this up.



Image Mappings


The mapping of how you want to order Maropost Commerce Cloud images to Tools.com images. 


Tools.com has a limit of 30 images per product, with a maximum of 15 images per variant.



Product Details


Category Attribute - This is the hard way of selecting which category's your products are listed on tools.com. You need to create a custom field that contains the list of comma-separated tools.com category ids that we can supply.
We suggest you leave this field blank, and use the mapping page explained further down to map the categories


Description Attribute - If you wish for us to use a different description field than the default one, then specify this here, if not leave it as the default


Short Description Attribute - If you wish for us to use a different short description field than the default one, then specify this here, if not leave it as the default 


 Name Attribute - If you wish for us to use a different name field than the default one, then specify this here, if not leave it as the default 


Weight Attribute - If you wish for us to use a different weight field than the default one, then specify this here, if not leave it as the default 



Price & Quantity


Virtual Stock Qty - The quantity to set on the marketplace for virtual Maropost Commerce Cloud products.


Stock Buffer - If set, we will subtract this amount from the available stock quantity we import from Maropost Commerce Cloud.


Price Group - If you wish for us to use a different price field than the default one, then specify this here, if not leave it as the default


Allow Default Price Fallback - Whether to fall back to the product's default price when syncing products that do not have your selected Price Group. If false, we will raise an error instead of using the default price.


Use Promo Price - Whether to sync promotional pricing from the selected Maropost price group, to Tools.com.



Order Settings



Shipping service / courier mappings: Please select the courier from the dropdown for each one of your shipping methods, this allows us to send correct tracking details to the customer.


Neto Payment method: This is for your own references, when the order comes into your Maropost orders dashboard, it will have the method chosen above as the payment method, so you can use one of your exisring payment methods, or you can add a new one in your Maropost contraol panel and call its Tools.com payments. Reach out if you need more info on this


Neto Shipping Method: The shipping method to use when creating orders on Maropost Commerce Cloud. Leave blank to not set any shipping methods during order creations., if your not sure then leave this blank or reach out to your account manager


Maropost New Order Status: This determines the status of a new order when it comes into your Maropost system, do you want new orders to come in the "pick" status? Then select that here



Notification Settings


Allows you to opt in to receiving key email alerts that require action within the App.


• Notification Hour - When you would like to receive the daily email summary.


• Order Sync Errors - Opt into receive a summary of all order errors between Maropost Commerce Cloud and tools.com.


• Product Sync Errors - Opt into receiving product error notifications when publishing to tools.com.


• Mapping Errors - Opt into receiving category mapping errors that require action.


At any time you can unsubscribe to these notifications either within the App or via a link in the email.




Product Sync


Upon clicking “Save” on the "Settings" page, this will validate your Tools.com credentials and trigger the downloading of products from Maropost Commerce Cloud for mapping. 


Next, you will tick all the relevant products’ “Approved To Show On Tools.com” checkboxes in your Maropost products page . Please complete this step first before returning back to the app setting page and completing the Category Mapping step below.


This will take 5-10mins depending on the number of products you wish to publish to Tools.com



Category Mapping


Once all products are downloaded from Maropost Commerce Cloud. Return back to the app settings page and click on the “Generic Attribute Mappings” button on the top of the page. This will take you to the Category mapping page



• Under the Maropost attribute dropdown, select category, and then click the drop down under Tools.com Generic Attribute and select Category. Then click the blue MAP button in the middle.


Wait a few seconds, and all of your categories should populate below, you need to map every single one of your categories to a matching tools.com category found on in the dropdown



• Once all ‘categories/attribute set ids’ have been mapped, the products will be synced to the Tools.com.



Attribute Set Mapping



We mentioned earlier that If you have selected "map from category or content" above, and have not chosen one attribute set id to cover your entire store, then you will need to head over to the Attribute_Set Mappings section to set this up on a category basis. 

As you can see below, you can select a different attribute set for each different category in your store. This can be time-consuming so we suggest picking one of the attribute set ids from the table up further in this document, and inputting that into the Default Attribute Set Id field instead of doing this mapping




Complete (Republishing your products)




• Once you have completed the mappings on the settings page, you’ll need to click on the “Product Sync” button on the left panel and click on the “Republish” button to resend your products with the mappings over to tools.com


• After which your product should be successfully created in tools.com, and it will get updated when you make any changes in Maropost.



• However, there may also be errors with the initial product sync


• To check on the errors, you’ll have to click on the “DIAGNOSTICS” tab on the top bar.


• It will display the list of responses from tools.com, and you can click into each of them to see the exact response messages for the products. 


• Try to fix any errors if you understand the error message


• Else, please reach out to Tools.com or CrescoData team for assistance in publishing the products.


Exports


This is to show the products we have attempted to sync to Tools.com - Either successfully or unsuccessfully.


Diagnostics

This tab summarizes the updates we receive back from the Tools.com, upon product sync.


Clicking into a specific error category will show what the issue is for resolution. Key ones being:


• Category missing.

• Attribute missing.

• No images

• No price.


Publishing Products


If you want to republish your products after a settings change, follow the below steps:


• Go to the “Settings” page, change the settings required and click “Save”. This will highlight a prompt on how you can republish your products with the reflected setting.


• Go to the “Product Sync” page and click on the “Republish” button.


• This will pop up a warning for you to finally click the “Re-publish” button.


• This will sync all updates to Tools.com.


Note - You can only do 5 bulk republishes in a day. If you require help to bulk republish your products, please kindly reach out to the CrescoData team at support@crescodata.com


 

ORDER SYNC


Imports


This will show all imports received from Tools.com and Maropost Commerce Cloud


Here you can also filter on a number of key attributes like Order # and order status. We also recommend filtering on “Integration” to see what has been imported from Tools.com or Maropost Commerce Cloud


Clicking into a specific order will show:

• Overview - If you want to see the last payload received from Tools.com to Maropost Commerce Cloud.

• History Tab - A summary of changes to the order over time.

• Listing - A simplified view of the order and items ordered.

 


Exports


This will show all exports to Tools.com and Maropost Commerce Cloud.


Here you can also filter on a number of key attributes like Order # and order status. We also recommend filtering on “Integration” to see what has been exported to the Tools.com or Maropost Commerce Cloud.
